As much as I hate to admit it, I’m guilty. 

I used to be one of those “write down every new year’s resolution and map out a plan for every single day to make sure I do it” kind of people on January 1st…

I’d have a resolution for my weight, drinking tons of water, exercising every single day, eating clean 100% of the time until I got to said weight… 

Then nonetheless, here’d come my best husband’s birthday, playdates at Chic-Fil-A, Taco Tuesday, and by February it was like I’d never made any resolutions at all.

It wasn’t until I started digging deeper into my mindset that I actually started sticking with my goals. And REACHING them!!

Running a 5K after running injuries - Ready to Run?!

The last time I ran a half marathon, I outpaced my training runs bc I saw the trophy and I wanted to win it....and in the process I fractured my foot.

 

Yes legit, I fractured my foot for a freaking trophy….wanna know what….I forgot to even pick up the trophy!!! W T FFFF (yes I got second place and paced a 7:11 mile #glorydays #kiddingbutnot)

 

Want to know what I haven’t done since then (and that was in 2013) ….I haven’t ran a single race.  Not even a 5K.

 

So when I say signing up for one is a HUGE DEAL for me, it’s like legit the scariest (and kind most rewarding) thing I’ve done since birthing my babies!

 

My oldest fur baby is my new running buddy number 1, & I’m going to do this the right way and follow a full training program (with strength workouts + runs all planned out!) and nutrition guides as well...and run the actual pace I choose ;)  ...That way I don’t look or feel like the girl...

Meditation - From College Interruption to Mom Life

Meditation has been in & out of my life for almost 12 years now.

 

It all started back in college when I was going through that season of "sowing my wild oats". Neal, my then boyfriend, now husband, and I were split up. I was living in Jackson Hole, WY and having quite the time of my life!  The mountain, the drinking, the being on my own, the eating out all the time, the boy, the camping trips, river floats, only a short stint at an internship with responsibilities...you get the picture - the typical 21 year old getting to live life without mom and dad for the first time. 

It was around this same time Eat Pray Love came about and I started casually reading it.  This same summer, after my internship and love affair (with both the beauty of Jackson Hole and w/ another man) were coming to an end, I was headed back to reality of graduating college & figuring out what the crap to do with the rest of my life....so I did something...

The Boob Job Blog - Tips for Recovery

One thing I get asked often is do I like my boobs?
Let's just put this here
 
And now this one...
 
I can't imagine any woman who had what I had in the first photo not liking the second photos more ;)
 
So yes, I LOVE my boob job - but there's a few things that 3 months post op I'm still not in love with.
 
It's like having your kid - you love that little squishy baby, especially when those tiny eyes open & look up at your after a feeding, but in the middle of the night when you're TIRED AF.... you're not so sure about this motherhood thing....That's kinda how my breast augmentation journey has been! I love them, they make me so happy, but it didn't come without discomfort.
 
One thing other friends have told me is that their boob jobs didn't really hurt. And then yet other friends warned me it was exceptionally painful.
 
Ya'll I gave birth naturally to both my children. No medication support. The boob job hurt more because the pain was...

Fear of Coaching.

I'm having some amazing women coming to to me, hopping on phone calls and discussing their needs for physical health, emotional health, an outlet from motherhood, money for their family, theyare ready to sign up and be a part of our amazing Team Beachbody Team, Be Well Tribe,  and then fear hits.

  • Fear that you won't "find enough people to help"
  • Fear that you don't know enough yet about the products we offer so you can't obviously "sell them"
  • Fear what your spouse & friends will think

Trust me girl, I had all those fears (and more), and I've found that none of them really mattered. I know WAY easier to say than to believe...but hear me out,  what mattered was this...

  • I wanted a job that I liked.
  • I wanted flexibility.
  • I wanted to feel appreciated for my work.
  • I wanted to work on my own personal growth
  • I did not want to dread time away from my kids for work that I did not enjoy.

Santa Slimdown Cookies

I want to share with you one of the recipes we'll have in the group later this month...because let's face it, you likely have been invited to a holiday gathering (or two or three) just like I have been, you're trying to maintain or even lose weight but these dang cookie exchanges, they're getting you!  Fear not! I have a few solutions. 

 

First, show up after having eaten a solid meal.  One loaded with about 50% veggies and 50% protein, skip carbs bc I want to you to save a carb for a cookie - duh!

Wow! Can you believe we’re heading into the final month of the decade?!

2019 is coming to an end and for a lot of people, the holiday season means overeating and exercise abandonment. Most adults gain an average of 1 pound between mid-November and mid-January… and never lose that extra baggage.
