Running a 5K after running injuries - Ready to Run?!

The last time I ran a half marathon, I outpaced my training runs bc I saw the trophy and I wanted to win it....and in the process I fractured my foot.

 

Yes legit, I fractured my foot for a freaking trophy….wanna know what….I forgot to even pick up the trophy!!! W T FFFF (yes I got second place and paced a 7:11 mile #glorydays #kiddingbutnot)

 

Want to know what I haven’t done since then (and that was in 2013) ….I haven’t ran a single race.  Not even a 5K.

 

So when I say signing up for one is a HUGE DEAL for me, it’s like legit the scariest (and kind most rewarding) thing I’ve done since birthing my babies!

 

My oldest fur baby is my new running buddy number 1, & I’m going to do this the right way and follow a full training program (with strength workouts + runs all planned out!) and nutrition guides as well...and run the actual pace I choose ;)  ...That way I don’t look or feel like the girl on the left...the one who was far too skinny and had no clue about eating to fuel her body and using strength training instead of just running.

 

Because when I just ran, let me tell you, my body (female cycles) did not work the way they were supposed to….and I’m not going back to that!

 

So how about let's follow a program that will help get back into running/run walking in a safe way!  

 

THE PROGRAM I'LL FOLLOW:

 30 Day Breakaway, it's going to get us out of the house and into the great outdoors!  I am so excited to get stronger, learn new running techniques, and just get outside and run!

 

What is 30 Day Breakaway?

 



Basics:

  • Super Trainer Idalis Velazquez  (creator of another fitness program Mes de Más & a D1 Track & Field athlete)
  • 30 day program culminating in a 5k!
  • Running and strength training workouts
  • Multiple calendars for beginning runners, advanced runners, and those who are short on time 
  • Audio or video running workouts so that you are guided through the whole run

 

Who is Idalis Velazquez?

 

Idalis is a wife, proud mom of three girls, and an internationally recognized Elite Trainer who specializes in fast, efficient and effective at-home programs that help busy women and men get the results they want with the time they have. She is a Beachbody Super Trainer, a bilingual Fitness Influencer, and Fitness and Wellness content creator. She was a Division I Track & Field star and ranked nationally in Puerto Rico!

When Can I Start?

  • September 14th - Sample workout available
  • October 5th - Coaches and VIP customers can unlock 30 Day Breakaway on BOD (THIS IS THE ONE I'D LIKE TO DO WITH YOU!)
  • October 19th - Customers can unlock 30 Day Breakaway on BOD
  • November 21 - 29th - Virtual 5k run with the entire network
  • Spring 2021 - 30 Day Breakaway on BOD for all customers

 

What equipment is required?

  • Light, medium, and heavy dumbbells
  • Resistance Loops (to increase intensity) 
  • A good pair of running shoes.

 

What is the nutrition plan like?

 

All 30 Day Breakaway Challenge and Completion packs include BOTH UPF and 2B Mindset - our incredible premium nutrition plans - so we will be able to focus on the nutrition program that works best for you. This combination of nutrition and fitness is amazing! Learning how to fuel your body will also fuel your runs!

 

What support will I have?

My test groups are so much fun and such an amazing way to stick to your plan, answer questions, stay motivated and connect with other people doing the same program! These groups are what have kept me on track - they hold me accountable and keep me motivated!
