The last time I ran a half marathon, I outpaced my training runs bc I saw the trophy and I wanted to win it....and in the process I fractured my foot.
Yes legit, I fractured my foot for a freaking trophy….wanna know what….I forgot to even pick up the trophy!!! W T FFFF (yes I got second place and paced a 7:11 mile #glorydays #kiddingbutnot)
Want to know what I haven’t done since then (and that was in 2013) ….I haven’t ran a single race. Not even a 5K.
So when I say signing up for one is a HUGE DEAL for me, it’s like legit the scariest (and kind most rewarding) thing I’ve done since birthing my babies!
My oldest fur baby is my new running buddy number 1, & I’m going to do this the right way and follow a full training program (with strength workouts + runs all planned out!) and nutrition guides as well...and run the actual pace I choose ;) ...That way I don’t look or feel like the girl on the left...the one who was far too skinny and had no clue about eating to fuel her body and using strength training instead of just running.
Because when I just ran, let me tell you, my body (female cycles) did not work the way they were supposed to….and I’m not going back to that!
