Gut Health & Skin Clearing Diet Without Deprivation

This is all about the nutrition program I encouraged a group of 25 + women to do with me in April 2022.  So many of us had traveling, lots of kids sports, Easter, sickness, and our normal routines ...but that ended up not being a problem at all to get this done.

I read back through the reasons why people have wanted to join into my monthly wellness bootcamps, and man it hit me reading these and how hard we are on ourselves, but also I'm so grateful for how honest and transparent these women are:

  • I have been unhappy with my body and my clothes are getting tighter. I want to be healthier.
  • I need to feel better about myself
  • I’m not happy about the way I look physically
  • I just want to be healthier to be more present in the life I have made.
  • Wellness has always been important but with my sinus tachycardia I haven’t been able to do my HIIT workouts for 3 months now(until I see the cardiologist) and I am gaining weight and loosing muscle.

3 Day Transformation

I’m always so blown away when I do these 3 day cleanses.

I’ve shared a few blogs in the past about them - my favorite being A Clean-ish Mom’s Take onthe 3 Day Refresh of my honest and raw testimony of the first time I did the cleanse.

I’ve done it about 7 times since, and each time I cuss less and less  ;)  I know just what you were expecting me to say - ha!

But for real, I LOVE to eat. I love leafy greens, sauté veggies, chicken, fish….and cookies, margaritas, and pizza

SO I gotta balance myself out from time to time, especially if I’ve been under stress, which I have been.

Stuck in a workout rut

Are you feeling stuck or in a rut when it comes to getting a workout in?

Almost ALWAYS, when I start feeling unmotivated or start dreading my workouts, it’s because I’m going through a busy or stressful time and I start putting myself on the back burner. And while that might be our first instinct when other people (like the tiny humans we’re raising) are counting on us, that is the WORST thing you can do to yourself. Because if you start to put yourself last and stop taking care of yourself, you’re going to show up as a half-a** version of yourself for everyone around you.

And that is NOT the goal.

So let me tell you what I do when this lack of motivation sets in…

  1. I lean into my Be Well Tribe and tell them what I’m struggling with and ask for accountability and support.
  2. I sit down with a notebook and pen and refocus my priorities and write them down.
  3. I schedule in time to take care of ME. Workouts, meal prep, quiet time, family time, all...

I was the girl that asked a billion questions when I first joined my team as a wellness coach. While I was worried in the beginning that my coach was rolling her eyes every time I shot over another question about how to run a successful online business, I know that wasn’t the case. Because my coach and my entire upline is full of some of the most positive, kind-hearted, supportive people I know.

You know the saying about how you are an average of the 5 people you spend the most time with? Well in that case, ever since I dropped my ego and shifted into learning mode to become a wellness coach (May of 2015) I feel I’ve been doing pretty dang well.

The Hamster Wheel of Health Self-Sabotage

Hey there friend, you may not know this about me, but I’m a recovering perfectionist. But not the kind that needs everyone else to be perfect… just me. You know the type?  

 

The truth is, I used to be really hard on myself. Like reallyyyy hard on myself.  

 

There used to be something inside me that allowed me to dish out all the compliments and inspiration to literally anyone I came across, except for myself.

 

“You look amazing in that dress!”  

“You’re down 2 pounds this week? You rock!!”

 

And while I always mean the compliments that I give out, there was not one single time that I could compliment myself and actually believe it. I was the Queen of Negative Self-Talk.

 

“This dress is just way too tight and my bloated belly makes me look like I’m entering the second trimester”

Running a 5K after running injuries - Ready to Run?!

The last time I ran a half marathon, I outpaced my training runs bc I saw the trophy and I wanted to win it....and in the process I fractured my foot.

 

Yes legit, I fractured my foot for a freaking trophy….wanna know what….I forgot to even pick up the trophy!!! W T FFFF (yes I got second place and paced a 7:11 mile #glorydays #kiddingbutnot)

 

Want to know what I haven’t done since then (and that was in 2013) ….I haven’t ran a single race.  Not even a 5K.

 

So when I say signing up for one is a HUGE DEAL for me, it’s like legit the scariest (and kind most rewarding) thing I’ve done since birthing my babies!

 

My oldest fur baby is my new running buddy number 1, & I’m going to do this the right way and follow a full training program (with strength workouts + runs all planned out!) and nutrition guides as well...and run the actual pace I choose ;)  ...That way I don’t look or feel like the girl...

Santa Slimdown Challenge

Wow! Can you believe we’re heading into the final month of the decade?!

2019 is coming to an end and for a lot of people, the holiday season means overeating and exercise abandonment. Most adults gain an average of 1 pound between mid-November and mid-January… and never lose that extra baggage.

My husband, myself and about 15 others decided to get a head start on getting rid of the extra baggage with Beachbody's 3 day cleanse and wow! Most lost 2-4 pounds.  Neal lost 3, I lost 4, and we're keeping our healthier habits of less caffeine, more whole foods & lots of water.

this is working for my health!

 Shoo this week has been a doozy for me personally! I got some sort of stomach bug on Tuesday that took me out! Thankfully, my husband also works from home as a Beachbody Coach with me, so I could rest while he took care of our 2.5 and 5 year old on our FIRST SNOW DAY! I mean half of me hates that I missed it bc I was laying in bed and the other half is like hey...you didn't have to freeze your butt off this year in the snow!  Normally that's ALL ME bc in years past, my husband has always worked outside of the home at his corporate job on snow days.

To say I am grateful he now works with me, well that's a major gratitude in my life this week. He totally stepped up and took care of the family!
